Mid 30s, a horse veterinarian and the father of 8 year old Billy, Mark is a former drug user and gambler who is the Gamblers Anonymous sponsor for police officer Ryan Wolfe. A decent man caught up in circumstances he can’t handle, Mark is discovered by Horatio badly beaten up by a strange man in his own home, and eventually winds up confessing to Ryan that he’s been doing drugs again and his attacker was his dealer. As it turns out, Mark is lying to Ryan to cover up an even bigger problem: he’s been coerced by Ivan Sarnoff into making good on an old bet by doping Banyon’s horse, In The Mix, right before the big race.
